Right now most of talking issue in international market is Brexit. Everyone is keeping his one eye on this issue. It can drastically change the scenario and growth of the nations like India.
Everything you want to know about Brexit are mentioned below:
- History:
In past even UK held nationwide referendum on whether to stay in the European Economic Community (the precursor to the EU) or not. The first ever nationwide referendum was done in 1975 and the result was 2/3 majority in favor of remaining in the Common Market. It is very uncommon for a country to hold a vote straight on the question of EU membership. Most of the past referendums is done for ratifying new treaties.
- No different UK
Over the years, the rough relationship between the UK and the EU has become well-known. For example, UK has kept itself away from number of European policies, such as from European currency or border-less travel with Schengen. All this shows that either UK is all alone in this or they are different. But, in reality, every member has its own issues with the EU – some are just more understandable than others.
- The Facts
European Union may be quite complex and the referendum debate has included topics such as the migration economy, democracy and security. Many people will be eyeing for data before the vote. Though, most of the queries around these matters narrows down to personal opinion, rather than realistic answers. While facts and proof do naturally exist, they can only notify. In the end, voters will have to make up their own minds on whether EU membership is worthwhile or not.
4. Global interest at priority
Though the referendum will be decided by UK voters, but many countries, alongside with organizations around the world have a significant concern for the outcome. For this reason, a number have broken with the convention of not engaging in a country’s internal debates and have expressed their views on the UK’s EU membership. Though, it’s not clear what influence these interference actually have on public opinion.
- It’s not End
The coming voting is the new breakthrough in the UK’s history with the European Union. Whatsoever the outcome on 23 June but it will not settle the issue between these two. In case result says ‘Leave’ then the discussions will take place on what type of association the UK will have with the EU. Or in case result says ‘Stay’ then the argument on EU membership will remain and calls for a second referendum will likely materialize. Either way, this will carry on.
This actually replied my dilemma, thank you!
My pleasure.
